Helping children develop a healthy self-esteem is an important goal of early childhood education. Children with a healthy self-esteem, compared to their peers with an unhealthy self-esteem, tend to be happier, more confident in their abilities, and less afraid of failure. Students who enroll in this course will learn about the concept of self-esteem, how to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy self-esteem, and how to foster children's self-esteem in early childhood settings.
This course qualifies for 1 clock hour of credit.
