Stress and trauma can have devastating consequences for both children and adults, especially if it is experienced over a long period of time. Recognizing stress and trauma in children is an important skill for early childhood teachers so they can provide children with the support they need to actively engage in an early childhood program. Brain research, types and causes of stress and trauma, and the importance of relationships are explored. Classroom activities and a list of easy to access, high quality resources available to educators and families are also provided. Funding for this 2-hour training was provided by Save the Children.
